In 2009, Con Alma Health Foundation started a tradition of recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the health of their communities, large and small. We call them Heroes of Health.
Each year, we call for nominations for our Heroes of Health, and they are recognized at our annual Grantee Recognition Event.
Heroes can come from any field. Past recipients have been health-care providers, policy makers, advocates, clinicians, administrators, and volunteers. All of them give of their time to address unmet health needs in New Mexico.
Two Award Tracks for Heroes of Health
Traditional Hero (Age 26+)
Honoring seasoned champions who have made significant strides in health and wellness throughout New Mexico.
Youth Hero (Age 25 and under)
Celebrating the next generation of health advocates who are already transforming their communities with fresh ideas and boundless energy.
Statewide Nominations—Every Community Matters
From bustling urban centers to tight-knit rural towns, we want to hear about the everyday Heroes of Health making a difference.
Whether they serve as volunteers, clinicians, teachers, or advocates, this is your chance to elevate those helping make New Mexico a healthier, happier place for all.
A $1,000 Donation—For a Cause Close to Their Heart
Each selected Hero of Health will have the opportunity to name a nonprofit organization to receive a $1,000 donation. This allows them to magnify their impact by supporting a cause that matters deeply to them and their community.
